A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Hosanna had a medium garnet-purple color, charging out of the glass with an exotic perfume of smoked meats, truffles, sandalwood and Indian spices over a compelling core of cherry cordial, blackberry tart and blueberry compote plus suggestions of garrigue and rose hip tea. The full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with taut, muscular black and blue fruits, with a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with languidly lingering licorice and spice flavors. Incredibly seductive and just plain delicious right now, hedonists can enjoy this captivating wine while it’s relatively young, while traditionalists can wait ten years and drink it over the next 25 years or more.Lisa Perrotti-Brown21st February 2018

The 2015 Hosanna has a delectable, well-defined and complex bouquet with red berry fruit, freshly tilled loam, mocha and light irony scents percolating through with time. This appears to have gained delineation in recent years. The palate is medium-bodied, lightly peppered and beautifully balanced, with fine-boned tannins and a very satisfying, harmonious finish. This comes thoroughly recommended. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index. Neal Martin3rd June 2025

Hosanna opens with notes of fig and grilled caramel, suggesting a touch of overripe fruit. Supple tannins that place you in Pomerol, with a fleshy feel that makes for enjoyable drinking now and over the next five years, but seems fully in its window, no need to wait from longer.Jane Anson19th February 2025

Chateau Hosanna

An Historic Pomerol Estate

The Hosanna estate in Pomerol dates back to the 16th century, when it was known as "Certan Giraud." However, it wasn't until the 1990s that the estate gained recognition for its outstanding wines, following a series of renovations and upgrades by its then-owners, the Moueix family. The vineyards of Château Hosanna cover approximately 4.5 hectares and are planted with predominantly Merlot, as well as smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are grown using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

The winemaking at Château Hosanna is focused on producing wines which communicate the terroir of Pomerol - younger wines are deep, with a rich flavour profile and elegant structure. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted, and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 to 22 months before bottling.
