Enjoyable to taste this luscious Pomerol, with soft raspberry puree, touch of peach pit, saffran, white pepper spice, softened tannins, ready to drink, well constructed, silky in mouthfeel, a little soft on the finish but with mouthwatering salinity, a sign perhaps of the old Cabernet Franc vines, a significant portion of which date back to 1956.Jane Anson8th February 2024

The 2014 Hosanna has an upfront and plush nose, perhaps one that you might associate more with Michel Rolland's winemaking style than J-P Moueix. Red berry fruit, cola, fig and curry leaf, perhaps even a touch Rhône-like? The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, lower acidity than its peers, and moderate depth, but it has a rather one-dimensional finish that needs more brightness and vivacity. I feel that Hosanna made far superior vintages after this, and bottles should be consumed in the next four or five years. I am not entirely convinced how representative this bottle is, hence the question mark. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. Neal Martin19th March 2024

Scented and alluring. Some lovely fresh Cabernet Franc aromas and a silky texture. Very winning indeed in a medium register. Lots of refreshment (only just not too much acidity). Will always be relatively light but should offer great pleasure. (JR)Jancis Robinson2nd April 2015

Chateau Hosanna

An Historic Pomerol Estate

The Hosanna estate in Pomerol dates back to the 16th century, when it was known as "Certan Giraud." However, it wasn't until the 1990s that the estate gained recognition for its outstanding wines, following a series of renovations and upgrades by its then-owners, the Moueix family. The vineyards of Château Hosanna cover approximately 4.5 hectares and are planted with predominantly Merlot, as well as smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are grown using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

The winemaking at Château Hosanna is focused on producing wines which communicate the terroir of Pomerol - younger wines are deep, with a rich flavour profile and elegant structure. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted, and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 to 22 months before bottling.
