Hermitage La Chapelle Jaboulet 1994 is a Northern Rhône Syrah sourced primarily from the esteemed Bessards climat. This bottling showcases a structure defined by firm tannins and a mineral core, reflecting the granite soils of the vineyard. On the palate, flavours of dark berries intertwine with earthy undertones and hints of olive tapenade. Aged in oak barrels, it exhibits a restrained profile typical of its vintage.

Fully mature at 31 years old, still with plenty of heart, offering waves of raspberry puree, crushed rose petals, orange zest, saffron, turmeric, seaspray and undergrowth. Expect a wine that is fully in its drinking window, with softly spun tannins, no need to carafe except for sediment, just sit back and drink in that fragrance. Today owned by Caroline Frey, at this point by the Jaboulet family. Tasted the same week as a wider vertical of La Chapelle.Jane Anson27th August 2025
