Domaine Sorrel Hermitage Blanc Les Rocoules 2010 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard white wine from the northern Rhône Valley of France. Domaine Marc Sorrel is a small, family-owned winery in the Hermitage appellation of the Northern Rhône. The Sorrel family has been producing wines in the region for generations, focusing on crafting high-quality wines from the Syrah grape variety. Produced from vines aged 50+, Rocoules Blanc is typically made up of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne and is matured for 18 months in used oak barrels. "Heady hedgerow aromas. Big and bold and round. Masses of flavour packed in here. Already quite evolved though. Rich and peachy but with good acidity." Jancis Robinson MW, 2012

Even more oily, the 2010 Hermitage Les Rocoules Blanc tips the scales at 14.8% natural alcohol. Made from 60-year-old vines, there are only 125 cases of this blend of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne. Thick, juicy notes of quince, creme brulee, nut oil, crushed rock and white currants emerge from this full-bodied white along with good acidity and no evidence of oak.
