Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Henschke Mount Edelstone 2021 is crafted from the historic Mount Edelstone Vineyard, established in 1912. The vineyard spans 16 hectares, cultivated from own-rooted, pre-phylloxera vines. The first Mount Edelstone wine was released in 1952, showcasing the vineyard`s potential. The grapes benefit from an elevation of 400 metres and an easterly aspect, promoting balanced ripening. This vintage reveals layers of dark fruits, black pepper and earthy undertones, with a notable minerality. The 2021 Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz was planted in 1912 and was 16 hectares from own-rooted, pre-phylloxera James Busby vine stock. The first Mount Edelstone wine was produced in 1952, from 40-year-old vines. The success of the Mount Edelstone was the inspiration for the Hill of Grace single-vineyard wine to be produced from the 1958 vintage. The Mount Edelstone vineyard is planted at 400 meters in elevation and has an easterly aspect trellised to the Scott Henry system, capturing the morning sun and avoiding the hot afternoon sun. The wine is velvety and layered with raw cocoa tannins, black pepper, Sichuan pepper, raspberry and blood plum. This has all the concentration and intensity that we know and love of Mount Edelstone; it speaks clearly to Eden Valley as a place, with notes of sage, bay, crushed rocks and a cool minerality that drives it through the long finish. This is a superb wine. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. - #ERROR!

The 2021 Shiraz Mount Edelstone is a stunner, offering a tremendous mix of refinement and understated power. It is quite beautiful, although tightly bound right now, delivering a compact core of spice, bay leaf, and violets, while oak adds well-judged support. There is a balletic feel to the palate as ethereal flavors of measured ripeness are backed by firm acidity and tight tannins. This release is marked by delicious energy and overall lightness of touch—an exceptional vintage for this label. Angus Hughson7th April 2025

Full screwcapped bottle just 1,277 g. 100% dry-grown, ungrafted centenarian Shiraz vines planted (unusually monovarietally for the time) in 1912 by Ronald Angas, a descendant of the Angas important in South Australian history. It was first bottled as a single-vineyard wine by Cyril Henschke in 1952. Its unique deep red-brown clay-loam to clay soils result in very low yields.

Mid-depth hue and still quite crimson. Really savoury, nuanced, rewarding nose. So dense and concentrated as it hits the palate! Yet it`s cool and refreshing on the finish. It already seems quite expressive, and richer than The Wheelwright. This is a real charmer. The density of fruit obscures the tannin which is just hinted at on the very end with discernible evidence of a framework. This just goes on and on … Surely those with a prejudice against Australian Shiraz could be wooed by this? Some may be shocked by the start of my suggested drinking window but I stand by it. (JR)

The Henschke name is synonymous with fine winemaking in Australia, the family are part of the "First Families" - ten of the countries oldest and most respected family-owned, multi-generation wineries. Other names on the roster include d'Arenberg, Yalumba, Tyrrells and Tahbilk. Henschke is currently managed by Prue and Stephen Carl Henschke. Stephen is the youngest son of the famous Cyril Henschke, who elevated the winery to become one of Australia's most highly regarded.

The winery produce a number of fine Cabernet Sauvignon, dry Rieslings and Semillon, but their flagship wine is undoubtedly Hill of Grace single vineyard Shiraz - intense, concentrated and age-worthy - Hill of Grace is considered by many to be Australia's greatest red wine.
