Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The Henschke Hill of Roses 2021 is an Eden Valley Shiraz notable for its structured profile. On the nose, it reveals aromas of dark fruits, notably blackberry and plum, alongside floral hints and subtle spice. The palate showcases black cherry, hints of pepper and a blend of earthy undertones, while firm tannins provide definition. This wine is crafted from select grapes sourced from 27-year-old vines, descendants of the esteemed Hill of Grace vineyard. Henschke, established in 1868, is renowned for its commitment to traditional viticultural practices.

In 1986, a mass selection from the grandfather vines was taken and planted in the Mount Edelstone vineyard. As a result of this, the Henschke`s decided to plant to the post office block—right next door to the Hill of Grace vineyard. This was in 1989, and it has given them the opportunity to assess at what point the vines move from young vine to established vines. The most obvious young-vine characteristic, to my palate, is the register of fruit. this 2021 Hill of Roses Shiraz is eminently red-fruited, while the Hill of Grace is black and blue. Another is the tannins, which don`t serve to carry the fruit as far through the finish here as they do in the Hill of Grace. Still silty and ultra-fine, they provide pliable structure and chew through the finish. This has notes of pressed garden rose, ozone and wet asphalt. It`s a beautiful wine, fresh and vibrant. The vines were 32 years old at the time of the single-pass harvest in 2021. This is excellent. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. - Erin Larkin

Full screwcapped bottle just 1,280 g. Fruit from what was planted in 1989 as a nursery block of dry-grown Shiraz for the Hill of Grace. Its vines are still regarded as too young to provide an ingredient for the Hill of Grace. Produced first in 2001 but not produced in 2003, 2011, 2014, 2019 or 2020 but 2021 was a more plentiful vintage.

Pale rim and transparent garnet. Really complex and intriguing on the nose! Does it have a floral note? It`s gorgeous on the front palate with some minerals and a hint of cough medicine. It offers a ping-pong between saline damson fruit and minerals but then tightens up and tells the taster to just go away. Grainy texture on the dry finish. Clearly it has amazing depth but needs lots of time – though it opened out 24 hours after the bottle was opened. Soooo long! (JR)

One of Australia's Greatest Wineries

The Henschke name is synonymous with fine winemaking in Australia, the family are part of the "First Families" - ten of the countries oldest and most respected family-owned, multi-generation wineries. Other names on the roster include d'Arenberg, Yalumba, Tyrrells and Tahbilk. Henschke is currently managed by Prue and Stephen Carl Henschke. Stephen is the youngest son of the famous Cyril Henschke, who elevated the winery to become one of Australia's most highly regarded.

The winery produce a number of fine Cabernet Sauvignon, dry Rieslings and Semillon, but their flagship wine is undoubtedly Hill of Grace single vineyard Shiraz - intense, concentrated and age-worthy - Hill of Grace is considered by many to be Australia's greatest red wine.
