Harlan Maiden 2016 is a Bordeaux-style blend primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sourced from the Harlan Estate in Napa Valley. This vintage presents a spectrum of dark fruit character, with notes of cherry and plum complemented by hints of spice, mocha and leather. The wine is a result of low yields and careful attention to grape selection. Founded by Bill Harlan in 1984, Harlan Estate is recognised for producing nuanced, age-worthy and terroir-focused wines from its hillside vineyards.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 The Maiden is a little closed to begin, giving way to notes of crushed blackberries, fresh blackcurrants, warm plums and black pepper with hints of tobacco, charcoal, menthol and underbrush. Full-bodied, the palate is taut and muscular, packed with tightly wound layers of black fruits and savory sparks, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and finishing on a lingering earthy note. — Lisa Perrotti-Brown, 30th September 2019

The 2016 The Maiden is every bit as stunning from bottle as it was from barrel. Dark cherry, mocha, spice and new leather infuse the 2016 with tons of character. Deep, sensual and wonderfully inviting, the 2016 has so much to offer. It's one of the best - maybe the best - Maiden I have ever tasted. All of the pedigree and dimension of the vintage comes through so clearly. — Antonio Galloni, 1st January 2020
