The 2022 Pinot Noir was grown in Kent on loam and clay. It spent 10 months in 20% new French barriques and puncheons. The nose is all fragrant, aromatic and tender raspberry leaf and wild raspberry fruit aromas. This tender fruit, almost with a touch of tealeaf, also defines the light-bodied palate. Tannins provide crunch before melting into silkiness. It's lovely, with a lasting red berry- and woodland-tinged finish.

Full bottle 1,422 g. Fermented in stainless steel, aged in oak barrels.

The decidedly present presence of oak is miraculously not suppressing the wild-red-berry fruit, which is skinny and tart but somehow ripe. Popping with juice and full of character. Dark chocolate and coffee bean in the mid palate and attractively leafy and peppery towards the end. I would love this with venison pie – like a cranberry jus. (TC)
