Located in Appledore, Kent, Gusbourne is one of the shining lights of English Sparkling Wine production. The vintage Blanc de Blanc is the flagship wine and is produced using the Traditional Method and aged for a minimum of 42 months on lees. It is brisk and fresh, hallmarked by exceptional linearity, purity and mineral complexity. Sublime with fish and chips!

The 2014 Brut Blanc de Blancs is a library release from the original disgorgement in July 2019. Evolution shows a slight touch of evolutionary lift, suggesting dried white currant. The palate is bright and tight, with the merest trace of blossom honey. Unlike the nose, the palate shows no age but delves into salty depth, making the mouth water with freshness. Visceral saltiness, creaminess and yeastiness unite into beautifully appetizing umami. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2019. Anne Krebiehl2nd January 2026

Disgorged in March 2019 under natural cork, Gusbourne`s 2014 Brut Blanc de Blancs is showing very well indeed, unwinding to reveal aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, spring blossom, fresh bread, macadamia nuts and white currants. Medium to full-bodied, vinous and elegantly fleshy, it`s seamless and complete, with fine depth at the core, racy acids and an elegant pinpoint mousse. Long and precise, this stands out as one of the finest offerings in its category.William Kelley8th April 2021
