Château Guiraud 2001 is a mature sweet wine from the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux. This wine displays a golden hue, indicative of its age. Aromas of honey, peach and citrus zest are present, alongside hints of dried fruits typical of Sauternes. The palate reveals a rich texture, characterised by notes of apricot and complex spice elements. This half bottle offers an approachable size, making it suitable for small gatherings or intimate tastings.

Vinous
The 2001 Guiraud sports a fragrant but not intense nose, featuring the lanolin and apricot notes that I observed previously; touches of grilled walnut surface with time. The lightly spiced palate is very well balanced with a honeyed opening and ginger-infused quince and marmalade flavors. It builds nicely on the finish without fully letting rip. A commendable, delicious Guiraud that should give another 15–20 years of drinking pleasure.
