Grands Échezeaux Georges Noëllat 2013 is a red wine from the prestigious Grands Échezeaux Grand Cru in Burgundy. This wine presents aromas of black cherry, plum, earthy undertones and hints of spice. On the palate, it displays a robust structure, with well-defined tannins and a concentrated fruit profile. Domaine Georges Noëllat spans a modest 0.30 hectares in this renowned vineyard. The cooler vintage contributes to its classicism and freshness.

The 2013 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru is matured entirely in new oak like the Echézeaux, although this was entirely destemmed. It has a perfumed bouquet that is more nuanced and complex than the Echézeaux. very fine delineation and more expressive mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin and a feminine touch. There is plenty of tension here, plenty of mineral tones with a long and sensual finish. This is sheer class, although I believe young Maxime will make even better in the future. - Neal Martin

Good bright medium red. Ethereal aromas of crushed stone, raspberry, red cherry and flowers, plus a touch of smoky minerality. Sweet, sappy and fine-grained, especially for a wine from fruit picked at 12.1% potential alcohol and chaptalized to 12.7%. Boasts wonderful energy and density, not to mention purity of flavor. The long, mineral-driven, saliva-inducing finish offers grip without hardness.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2016
