This 1993 vintage from Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac is a red wine hailing from the esteemed Saint-Émilion region of Bordeaux, located adjacent to Pomerol. The estate benefits from gravel and clay soils, contributing to the cooler climate that favours the Merlot grape predominantly in the blend. A challenging harvest year, marked by rainfall, resulted in a wine with an alcohol level of 12.5%. It underwent 12 months of maturation in French oak barrels. The wine exhibits a profile of redcurrants, forest floor, and leather, presenting a lean, linear structure characteristic of early 1990s Right Bank wines, emphasising freshness and restraint.
