Glenlivet Samaroli 1976 is a Speyside single malt distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2001 by the legendary Italian bottler Silvano Samaroli. Matured in a single Sherry cask, this expression delivers a sophisticated profile of beeswax, dried apricots and refined wood spice. The palate is exceptionally balanced, featuring a viscous mouthfeel and secondary notes of roasted coffee and leather that evolve over time. Bottled at 45% ABV, it showcases the precise cask selection for which Samaroli became famous during the late 20th century.

A Classic Speyside

Glenlivet was the first Speyside in distillery to be granted a license after the passing of the excise act in 1823. Founded by George Smith, the distillery has become synonymous with a softer, gentler style of single malt and one of Scotland's best selling whiskies. Beyond the reliable core range that features a 12 year old, 15 year old, 18 year old and a number of non-age-statement cask finishes, Glenlivet is famous for the venerable old drams released under the "Cellar Collection" series.

The distillery was purchased by Pernod Ricard in 2001 and currently produces over 10 millions litres of new-make spirit a year. The team operate six stills and eight washbacks, installed as part of a renovation project that was completed in 2010.
