Glenlivet Private Collection G&M 1963 is a Speyside single malt distilled during a period of significant expansion for the distillery. Matured in first-fill American oak hogsheads and bottled in 2010, this expression offers a concentrated look at the 1960s spirit style. The profile is defined by a deep amber hue and aromas of fruitcake, treacle and ginger. On the palate, it delivers a robust structure with layers of nuts, spices and charred oak. Bottled at 40.6% ABV, the whisky retains its structural integrity while showcasing the mellowing effects of nearly 50 years in wood.

A Classic Speyside

Glenlivet was the first Speyside in distillery to be granted a license after the passing of the excise act in 1823. Founded by George Smith, the distillery has become synonymous with a softer, gentler style of single malt and one of Scotland's best selling whiskies. Beyond the reliable core range that features a 12 year old, 15 year old, 18 year old and a number of non-age-statement cask finishes, Glenlivet is famous for the venerable old drams released under the "Cellar Collection" series.

The distillery was purchased by Pernod Ricard in 2001 and currently produces over 10 millions litres of new-make spirit a year. The team operate six stills and eight washbacks, installed as part of a renovation project that was completed in 2010.
