This Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Rare Collection 2002 Bottling represents a hallmark of Highland single malt whisky. Distilled in the early 1960s and released in November 2002, it comprises just 600 bottles sourced from a select group of casks using the distillery’s remnant vatting process, which incorporates a portion of previous batches. The whisky matured in a blend of Sherry and Bourbon casks, leading to complexities of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and dates. Over four decades, the spirit has developed a rich, oily texture and is characterised by a finish that reveals hints of winter spices and honey, highlighting Glenfiddich`s craftsmanship and heritage.

Glenfiddich

The World's Favourite Single Malt

Founded in Dufftown in 1886 by William Grant, the first whisky ran off the stills at Glenfiddich on Christmas Day in 1887. The distillery is located in the glen of the river Fiddich, a name derived from the Scottish Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhiach or "valley of the deer". Now one of the most famous and best selling single malts in the world, Glenfiddich made their name producing an easy drinking, mellower style of Scottish whisky, epitomised by their iconic 12 year old.

Beyond the core range, a series of limited edition single cask bottlings showcase the age-worthiness of Glenfiddich while a series of experimental bottlings demonstrate the team are not afraid of progress and innovation - see Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment, which is finished in ex-English apple brandy casks and Glenfiddich IPA Finish, which spends time maturing in casks that previously held India Pale Ale.
