Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Rare Collection 2000 Bottling, a Speyside single malt, marks the distillery`s inaugural release of its 40-year-old series. Distilled in the early 1960s, this whisky exemplifies the unique remnant vatting process, wherein a portion of each batch is integrated into the next, ensuring continuity in character across generations. Maturation occurs in a blend of high-quality Sherry and Bourbon wood, contributing to the intricate profile characterised by dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and dates, alongside a refined oak influence. The texture presents a notably viscous mouthfeel, culminating in a warming finish accentuated by winter spices and honey, providing insight into mid-20th century production techniques.

Glenfiddich

The World's Favourite Single Malt

Founded in Dufftown in 1886 by William Grant, the first whisky ran off the stills at Glenfiddich on Christmas Day in 1887. The distillery is located in the glen of the river Fiddich, a name derived from the Scottish Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhiach or "valley of the deer". Now one of the most famous and best selling single malts in the world, Glenfiddich made their name producing an easy drinking, mellower style of Scottish whisky, epitomised by their iconic 12 year old.

Beyond the core range, a series of limited edition single cask bottlings showcase the age-worthiness of Glenfiddich while a series of experimental bottlings demonstrate the team are not afraid of progress and innovation - see Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment, which is finished in ex-English apple brandy casks and Glenfiddich IPA Finish, which spends time maturing in casks that previously held India Pale Ale.
