Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Rare Collection 17th Release is a Speyside single malt vatted from a small selection of the distillery’s oldest casks. This bottling uses a remnant vatting process where a portion of the previous batch is carried over to ensure a continuous and complex profile. It features a dark mahogany colour and a profile of roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate with a hint of peat smoke. The palate is oily and rich with layers of dried fruit and polished leather that persist through an exceptionally long finish.

The World's Favourite Single Malt

Founded in Dufftown in 1886 by William Grant, the first whisky ran off the stills at Glenfiddich on Christmas Day in 1887. The distillery is located in the glen of the river Fiddich, a name derived from the Scottish Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhiach or "valley of the deer". Now one of the most famous and best selling single malts in the world, Glenfiddich made their name producing an easy drinking, mellower style of Scottish whisky, epitomised by their iconic 12 year old.

Beyond the core range, a series of limited edition single cask bottlings showcase the age-worthiness of Glenfiddich while a series of experimental bottlings demonstrate the team are not afraid of progress and innovation - see Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment, which is finished in ex-English apple brandy casks and Glenfiddich IPA Finish, which spends time maturing in casks that previously held India Pale Ale.
