Glenfarclas Family Cask 3247 is a 45 Year Old single cask Speyside malt distilled in 1962, then matured in a Sherry hogshead, and bottled at a natural strength of 40.9% ABV in 2007. This whisky exemplifies Glenfarclas Distillery`s commitment to traditional methods, crafted with direct-fired stills that produce a full-bodied spirit. The cask imparts flavours of dark chocolate, espresso, and damp earth, intertwined with the richness of Christmas cake. The Grant family, custodians of Glenfarclas since 1865, employs a hands-on approach, ensuring that every release reflects their heritage and mastery of wood management over decades. This expression offers a complexity shaped by prolonged maturation.

A Family Owned Distillery

Glenfarclas is one of very few privately owned Scottish distilleries having been in the hands of the Grant family for six generations from the mid-1800s until the present day. Glenfarclas operate three wash stills and four spirit stills and take their water from springs around the nearby Ben Rinnes mountain.

The distillery have a focus on high quality, flavourful spirits matched with high quality ex-Sherry barrels from Jerez de la Frontera. The core range is impressively consistent featuring a 10 year old, 15 year old, 18 year and 21 year old. A limited edition 30 year old is released annual and special mention should go to 105 Caskk Strength - a superb non-age-statement cask strength single malt bottled at 57.5% ABV.
