Distilled in 1952, Glenfarclas Family Cask 1952 is the oldest release in the renowned Family Cask series from Glenfarclas Distillery, situated in Speyside. This Single Malt Scotch Whisky has matured in a single Sherry butt for over 50 years, resulting in a complex profile shaped by time and oak interaction. Bottled at natural strength, it conveys layers of molasses, antique leather, espresso, and dried black fruits. Glenfarclas, established in 1836 and still owned by the Grant family, emphasises traditional distilling methods and direct-fired stills, reflecting a historic commitment to quality. This expression represents an important chapter in Scottish whisky heritage.

A Family Owned Distillery

Glenfarclas is one of very few privately owned Scottish distilleries having been in the hands of the Grant family for six generations from the mid-1800s until the present day. Glenfarclas operate three wash stills and four spirit stills and take their water from springs around the nearby Ben Rinnes mountain.

The distillery have a focus on high quality, flavourful spirits matched with high quality ex-Sherry barrels from Jerez de la Frontera. The core range is impressively consistent featuring a 10 year old, 15 year old, 18 year and 21 year old. A limited edition 30 year old is released annual and special mention should go to 105 Caskk Strength - a superb non-age-statement cask strength single malt bottled at 57.5% ABV.
