An exquisite single malt aged for over 40 years in a single cask, this whisky was distilled in 1977 and matured in Sherry Hogshead #7293. Bottled in October 2019 at 43.6% ABV, it is part of the Family Casks collection, first introduced in 2007. This series features single cask whiskies spanning from the 1950s to the early 2000s. The Glenfarclas The Family Cask 1977 Cask 7293 is a limited release, with only 210 bottles made available, showcasing the rarity and exclusivity of this expression.

A Family Owned Distillery

Glenfarclas is one of very few privately owned Scottish distilleries having been in the hands of the Grant family for six generations from the mid-1800s until the present day. Glenfarclas operate three wash stills and four spirit stills and take their water from springs around the nearby Ben Rinnes mountain.

The distillery have a focus on high quality, flavourful spirits matched with high quality ex-Sherry barrels from Jerez de la Frontera. The core range is impressively consistent featuring a 10 year old, 15 year old, 18 year and 21 year old. A limited edition 30 year old is released annual and special mention should go to 105 Caskk Strength - a superb non-age-statement cask strength single malt bottled at 57.5% ABV.
