Distilled over thirty years ago, this rare expression has matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, the signature of the distillery, combined with select Amontillado sherry casks. The addition of this third sherry style adds rich and intriguing aromatics with refined layers of complexity.

Drawing upon decades of skill and expertise, Glendronach Master Blender Rachel Barrie has brought each together with precision and in sublime balance. The Glendronach Aged 30 Years is smooth and complex Highland Single Malt with an enveloping mouthfeel and seductive lingering finish, for which The Glendronach is renowned.

A Big, Bold Highland Malt

Glendronach is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland, its history in the Valley of Forgue stretching back almost 200 years. The distillery has come under the stewardship of numerous owners over the years: founded by a consortium headed by local laird James Allardice in 1826, it was purchased by Walter Scott of Teaninich in 1847, Charles Grant in 1920 and William Teacher & Sons in 1960 (Glendromach was a component of Teacher’s blended whisky throughout the latter’s ownership). Next came Allied brewers, in 1976. Then, via various consolidations and acquisitions, in 2005 Glendromach became part of the Pernod Ricard whisky portfolio.

In 2008, Pernod sold Glendronach to a consortium led by Master Distiller Billy Walker (of BenRiach fame). As part of a £7 million investment, they spearheaded the relaunch of the entire Gledronach core single malt range – that is, 12- 15- and 18-year-old expressions. Each whisky of the core range is matured in ex-Sherry casks, in particular oloroso and PX, and showcases Glendromach signature rich, fruity style. However, in 2015, Glendromach did also introduce a peated expression.

Bringing us up to date, in 2016 the distillery was purchased as part of a wider acquisition of the BenRiach Distillery Company by the Brown-Forman Corporation.
