GlenAllachie 1972 Directors Cut is a 40-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled by Douglas Laing. Distilled in 1972, this rare bottling showcases the distillery`s longevity. It features a profile of dried stone fruits, dark chocolate, tobacco and aged oak. The palate is rich and unctuous, with a persistent finish of spice and resin, standing as a significant relic from an era before the distillery gained widespread independent recognition and global prestige.

GlenAllachie was founded in Aberlour in 1967 at the foot of the Ben Rinnes mountains. Initially, the distillery was known for contributing its spirit to a number of Scottish blended whiskies and kept a relatively low profile with very few bottlings of single malt available. That all changed in 2017 when Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson came together to form the GlenAllachie Distillers Company and agree the purchase of the distillery from the then owners Chivas Brothers.

The revitalised GlenAllachie is quickly becoming home to some of the most innovative and interesting bottlings in Scotland. The core range includes an outstanding 8 year old, finished in Oloroso casks, virgin oak and red wine barriques while the 15 year old offers big Sherry notes that fans of Macallan, Glen Grant and Glenfarclas will surely enjoy.
