Glen Keith 1993 Old Malt Cask is an 18-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled by Hunter Laing. Distilled in 1993, this expression captures the distillery`s bright, fruit-forward style. It features a profile of peach, honey, malt and toasted wood. The 18 years in the cask have added a layer of complexity and texture, resulting in a refined and balanced whisky that is a classic example of Speyside elegance, charm and lasting fruit character.

Recently Reborn

Constructed within view of Strathisla distillery in Keith, Banffshire, in 1957 by Chivas Brothers, Glen Keith served for many years as the experimental plant of Chivas’s parent company, Seagrams. Chivas also developed its own selective strains of yeasts there.

Until 1999, Glen Keith's output was mostly dedicated to the Chivas Brothers blends Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers. An official 10-year-old Glen Keith was released, but never established the standing of many of its Speyside competitors. Mothballed in 1999, the distillery was only reopened in 2013 by current owner Pernod Ricard (which also owns neighbouring Strathisla).

The Glen Keith style is typically light and grassy, however in early years of the distillery’s life two bolder peated malts – Craigduff and Glenisla – were produced. Bottlings of these were recently released by Signatory.
