Established in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail boasts a remarkable 120-year history of bottling single malt whiskies. By the 1950s, it proudly held the world`s most extensive selection of bottled malt whiskies. This family-run enterprise achieved extraordinary milestones, including bottling the oldest single malt whisky globally and expanding into distillation after acquiring Benromach in 1993. Among their rare offerings is the 1955 vintage Glen Grant, adorned with the iconic Book of Kells packaging, featuring label art inspired by the medieval, illuminated manuscript from which the series derives its name.

Glen Grant

A Highly Respected Speyside Malt

Glen Grant was founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, a pair of former illegal distillers and smugglers who had decided to establish themselves as legitimate whisky makers. The distillery eventually passed to Major James Grant, nephew of founder John Grant. James modernised the distillery in the late 1800s, adding electric light and introducing taller, more slender stills - a feature that still characterises the character of the spirit to this day.

Older bottlings of Glen Grant lean heavily on the use of ex-Sherry casks, but the recently launched core range tends to a lighter, fruitier style of single malt. Glen Grant is used extensively in Chivas blends and is widely available in the form of venerable old vintage bottlings from the Gordon & MacPhail. A core range features a 10 year old, 12 year old, 15 year old and 18 year old.
