The Glen Grant 29 Year Old Old and Rare from Hunter Laing was distilled in 1994 and bottled at natural cask strength, preserving the integrity of this Speyside whisky. Glen Grant distillery, founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant in Rothes, is recognised for its traditional methods and unpeated spirit profile. This whisky showcases the distillery’s focus on quality cask selection, aged in American oak for 29 years, contributing to its complexity. On the palate, it presents wooden spice and dried fruits, while the finish is long, highlighting hints of oak.

Glen Grant

A Highly Respected Speyside Malt

Glen Grant was founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, a pair of former illegal distillers and smugglers who had decided to establish themselves as legitimate whisky makers. The distillery eventually passed to Major James Grant, nephew of founder John Grant. James modernised the distillery in the late 1800s, adding electric light and introducing taller, more slender stills - a feature that still characterises the character of the spirit to this day.

Older bottlings of Glen Grant lean heavily on the use of ex-Sherry casks, but the recently launched core range tends to a lighter, fruitier style of single malt. Glen Grant is used extensively in Chivas blends and is widely available in the form of venerable old vintage bottlings from the Gordon & MacPhail. A core range features a 10 year old, 12 year old, 15 year old and 18 year old.
