Château Giscours 2012 is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. The wine exhibits a structured profile, characterised by dark fruit notes typical of the Margaux region. The mid-palate reveals layers of blackcurrant and plum, complemented by a mineral undertone. The tannins are pronounced, providing a firm backbone that suggests potential for further ageing. Château Giscours has seen significant improvements under the management of Dutch winemaker, Alexander Van Beek.

Vinous
The 2012 Giscours is a wine that did not perform well at the Southwold Ten-Year-On blind tastings. Two years later, the nose is attractive with raspberry, cedar and light sous-bois scents, although it does miss some intensity. The palate is rather sharp on the entry and does not have the elegance of the previous vintage. As I commented before, the 2012 misses some substance on the finish compared to other vintages Neal Martin2nd April 2025
