Sexton Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024 is a single-site Yarra Valley bottling grown on a steep, north-facing slope of grey clay-loam soils. This vintage highlights the vineyard`s characteristic structural focus, offering a profile of black cherry, pomegranate and woodsmoke underpinned by firm, gravelly tannins. Winemaking involves 25% whole-cluster fermentation and 10 months in French oak, resulting in a wine of significant tension and savoury depth. This vineyard, situated at 130 to 210 metres elevation, produces the most muscular and brooding Pinot Noir in the Giant Steps portfolio. It is a precise and site-driven red, balancing cool-climate acidity with a persistent, earthy finish that marks it as a benchmark for the region.

Robert Parker
The 2024 Sexton Vineyard Pinot Noir is incredibly perfumed, with apples and rose petals, cherry and blood plum. In the mouth, the tannins are quite grippy and firm—still eminently fine but with rigidity. This is quite different from the other Pinot Noirs in this vintage release, more structural and not as complex. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
