Gevrey-Chambertin Domaine Trapet 2017 is a red Village Pinot Noir from the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation in the Côte de Nuits. This wine showcases a vibrant mineral finish and the earthy depth typical of Gevrey`s limestone-rich soils, specifically the older, oyster-shell-rich strata of the Ostrea parcels. The 2017 vintage is full-bodied and solid, with tannins that spread across the palate while remaining integrated and remarkably fresh. It is a wine that is drinkable now for its vivid fruit, but possesses the balance to reward another decade of cellaring.
90 Robert Parker
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers up notes of cherries, cassis, espresso roast and loamy soil, subtly framed by new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, tangy and acid driven, with fine tannins and a long, vibrant finish. With some bottle age this should evolve into a beautifully transparent Gevrey. - William Kelley
Vinous
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a well defined, expressive bouquet with raspberry preserve and blackcurrant aromas, quite earthy in style and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, bright red fruit, quite saline in the mouth with a touch of white pepper on the finish. Fine. Neal Martin1st January 2019
