Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Rossignol-Trapet's 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle has a fresh cranberry and blackberry-scented bouquet with light rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a light, slightly tart entry and then it feels just a little hollow toward the bitter, angular finish. Hopefully this will gain more weight with bottle age, but I would be inclined to pop it open sooner rather than later. Tasted September 2017.Neal Martin31st October 2017
Vinous
Good dark red. High-pitched, slightly high-toned aromas of raspberry, spices and mint show a slightly exotic character. Fresh, dry and classic in the mouth, offering good juicy, spicy intensity. This wine got only a single pigeage, noted Nicolas Rossignol, as it has a tendency to become overly tannic. A bit dusty on the back end but red licorice and floral notes give it personality and perfumed lift.Stephen Tanzer1st January 2016
