The Gevrey-Chambertin Les Goulots Domaine Fourrier 2022 presents a nuanced bouquet showcasing red cherries, earth and subtle floral notes. The palate reveals medium body, displaying fine structure with its chalky tannins and notable freshness. A mineral-driven finish adds to the complexity, characteristic of the region`s terroir. Domaine Fourrier, established by the Fourrier family, is noted for its meticulous vineyard practices and small-scale production methods, allowing for careful attention to detail in each vintage. This particular wine reflects the estate`s commitment to expressing the essence of Gevrey-Chambertin.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Goulots is nicely balanced, unfurling in the glass with scents of strawberries and cherries mingled with licorice and peony. Medium to full-bodied, lively and seamless, with powdery tannins and a mineral finish, it`s a success. - William Kelley

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Goulots 1er Cru has a pastille-like bouquet with red cherries, blood orange and potpourri scents - not immediate and complex. The medium-bodied palate has fine grip, chalky tannins, and very good tension with a persistent, mineral-rich finish just oozing class. What an outstanding Gevrey-Chambertin this will become.Neal Martin17th January 2024

Jean-Marie Fourrier has been at the helm of his family domaine since the mid 1990s and has steadily risen to become one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most important vignerons. Having served an apprentice under the famous Henri Jayer before a brief stint at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon, Jean-Marie returned to France with a clear vision to raise to improve the quality of his wines to be the equal of any in the Côte de Nuits.

Grapes are destemmed after picking and fermentation is kept on the cooler side. A 36 - 48 hour maceration precedes the fermentation, punching down is manual and malolactic fermentation is restricted through temperature control. These are superbly elegant wines which push their ethereal fruit character to the fore.
