Domaine de la Vougeraie Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles 2022 is a Burgundy red wine from the lieu-dit of Les Evocelles in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. This village-level Gevrey-Chambertin comes from Les Evocelles, the very first vineyard acquired by the estate back in 1966.
Vinous
- The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles, which has small berries due to millerandage, has a lilting bouquet of red and blue fruit, a touch of violet in the background, and more mineralité than the La Justice. The medium-bodied palate is cohesive and focused with fine tannins, well-judged acidity and a bright, sapid finish. This is a delightful Gevrey-Chambertin.
