The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers from Domaine Armand Rousseau presents a concentrated expression of Pinot Noir. This wine reveals layers of precise red fruit and underlying earthy nuances typical of its terroir. The palate is marked by coolness and a balanced acidity, enhanced by subtle spice notes. Domaine Armand Rousseau, established in 1854, is noted for its uncompromising vineyard focus.
90 Vinous
(these vines average more than 50 years of age): Bright medium red. Wild small red berries, gibier and a whiff of underbrush on the sexy nose. Concentrated and sappy, with lovely purity and energy to the chewy flavors of red cherry and saline minerality. This tight, juicy, firmly tannic wine is in a rather masculine, 2010-like style for the vintage. But that's no complaint!Stephen Tanzer1st January 2014
