The Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St Jacques Armand Rousseau 2012 showcases a well-defined expression of Pinot Noir from this renowned Burgundy producer. This vintage presents a harmonious blend of red fruit notes, floral undertones and subtle mineral characteristics, framed by a nuanced earthiness. The wine reveals a structured mouthfeel with gently delineated tannins and vibrant acidity. Domaine Armand Rousseau has a long-standing reputation for quality, with an emphasis on vineyard selection; they manage 0.76 hectares in Lavaux Saint-Jacques that yield wines often compared to Grand Cru offerings.

(this was the last fruit harvested in 2012): Muskier and wilder on the nose than the village wine, showing a much darker fruit character. Juicy, sweet and wild on the palate, with a slightly meaty nuance to the black raspberry flavor. Finishes sweet and long, with dusty, fine-grained tannins. Doesn't show the eclat of the village wine today but this is richer.
