Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Combe du Dessus 2002 is a medium- to full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the lieu-dit of Combe de Dessus in the Gevrey-Chambertin commune of the Côte de Nuits. Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Denis Mortet is a family-owned estate run by Laurence and her two children, Clémence and Arnaud. The domaine was originally founded in 1956 by Charles Mortet with a single hectare of vines to his name. Produced from Pinot Noir vines aged 50+, the 2002 is a ripe, full-bodied expression of Combe du Dessus. "Mortet told me this was harvested at 13.9% potential yet other than a subtle touch of finishing warmth, there is no sign of the elevated alcohol level. The nose displays expressive, even perfumed very ripe red and black fruit aromas followed by round, rich, pure and decidedly forward flavours that possess excellent intensity and fine length." Burghound, 2005
