Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St Jacques 2002 is a mature 1er Cru Burgundy Pinot Noir from the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Clos Saint-Jacques is arguably the most prestigious 1er Cru in Gevrey-Chambertin and in good vintages produces Pinion Noirs of a Grand Cru level. "Full reddish brown. Knockout perfumed nose combines raspberry, mocha, truffle and smoky minerality (`we`re entering the world of fungus, humus and leaves,` noted winemaker Frédéric Barnier). Utterly spherical and round, conveying seamless flavours of raspberry, truffley underbrush and coffee. Slightly edgy tannins and acids draw out and give shape to the finish. But this bottle is a bit more evolved than I would have guessed." Vinous

The very essence of Burgundy

Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis in 1859. Over the last 165 years the company maintained exceptional quality of its wines through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy and now produce wines from over 150 appellations.

Jadot owns almost 125ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or and more than 298 vineyard parcels sites including 14 Grand Cru and 74 Premier Cru. Within the last decade Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards around Beaune have been managed following organic principles and are in the process of organic certification for the 2024 vintage.

From vineyard to bottle, sustainability is a core part of their approach. Since 2019, all Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards have the High Environmental Value level 3 certification. It covers biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, management of fertiliser use and management of water.
