Founded in 1859, Louis Jadot is undoubtedly one of the most consistent growers and négociant houses in Burgundy. The Maison which is headquartered in Beaune offers a vast portfolio of wines – from easy-drinking, accessible Bourgogne to complex, age-worthy Grand Crus. This particular release comes from the Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques, where the Maison owns a tiny 1-hectare plot. Expect an enticing palette of mature black fruit, mushrooms, roasted meat and mixed spices. Drinking very well now.

The very essence of Burgundy

Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by Louis Henry Denis in 1859. Over the last 165 years the company maintained exceptional quality of its wines through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy and now produce wines from over 150 appellations.

Jadot owns almost 125ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or and more than 298 vineyard parcels sites including 14 Grand Cru and 74 Premier Cru. Within the last decade Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards around Beaune have been managed following organic principles and are in the process of organic certification for the 2024 vintage.

From vineyard to bottle, sustainability is a core part of their approach. Since 2019, all Domaine Louis Jadot vineyards have the High Environmental Value level 3 certification. This is a voluntary approach which aims to identify and promote particularly environmentally-friendly practices applied by farmers. It covers biodiversity conservation, plant protection strategy, management of fertiliser use and management of water.
