Domaine Benjamin Leroux Gevrey-Chambertin 2012 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation of the Côte de Nuits. After having worked at such worked at Cos d`Estournel in Bordeaux, Domaine Drouhin in Oregon, Louis Jadot in Beaune and Comte Armand in Pommard, Benjamin Leroux established his own négociant business in 2007. Preferring organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard, Benjamin works with low intervention techniques and minimal new oak in order to achieve the extraordinary purity of fruit and terroir signature for which his wines have become renowned. "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has an elegant bouquet with fine delineation lifted floral red berry fruit mingling with minerals. It has a lively, effervescent entry with crisp tannins, vibrant citrus fruit and plenty of dark cherry and raspberry lining the structured finish. Very fine and natural." Neal Martin, 2013
Vinous
The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin is quite supple and expressive, both of which suggest it will drink well pretty much upon release. Sweet spices, crushed flowers and soft red/blue fruits linger on the close.Antonio Galloni1st January 2014
