The 2012 Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin is currently in a great spot. It presents itself as a beautiful wine with primary notes of flowers and red fruits, underlined by a subtle hint of soy and a refined animal-like quality. Its structure is well-resolved, and it appears to have very gentle tannins. The wine is characterized by bright acidity, yet what truly sets it apart is the impeccable balance and elegance it exudes. While it may not overwhelm with excessive complexity, the execution is simply flawless.

Pale red. Pungent aromas and flavors of red cherry, minerals and flowers. Juicy and urgent, showing lovely precision and cut. These very ripe vines were picked on the first day of the harvest, noted Eric Rousseau. Finishes with good gripping tannins. Rousseau's village wine is far more concentrated than it was just five or six years ago.
