Founded at the start of the 20th century, Armand Rousseau is a leading wine producer in Burgundy, currently managed by Eric Rousseau with the assistance of his daughter Cyriell. The Domaine is based in Gevrey-Chambertin and consists of approximately 15 hectares, over half of which is situated in Grand Cru sites. Rousseau owns 10 vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, 8 of which are used in this Village appellation. Additional grapes are also sourced from some Premier Cru sites. The 2010 vintage is in a good spot right now, boasting notes of delicate red berries, spices and a touch of mint.
Vinous
The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin is weightless, elegant and totally refined. It reveals striking purity in its sweet red berries, mint, spices and flowers, with fabulous intensity and balance at the villages level. This is an impressive wine from Eric Rousseau and his team. I loved it.
