The 1998 Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine Armand Rousseau is a sought-after mature red Burgundy from a revered domaine. Domaine Armand Rousseau holds 2.26 hectares of vineyard land within the Gevrey-Chambertin village appellation. The wine displays a profile of deep red and dark berry fruit, complemented by earthy notes, dried leaves and sweet cinnamon and nutmeg spice. While sometimes perceived as a bit rustic or backward in its youth, it develops elegance and a beautiful aromatic complexity with time in the bottle.
