A fine Grand Cru, first produced in 2009. The Geisberg is a jewel of Alsace, located between two other grands crus on the geological fault of Ribeauvillé, its limestone and sandstone subsoil, old vines, southern exposure and small steeply sloping terraces make it a unique and complex terroir. Spanning only 8.5 ha, it is one of the smallest grand crus of Alsace. The resulting Riesling is of great intensity and beautiful energy. Well-suited to food pairings and cellaring for 10 to 30 years.
93 Vinous
Bright golden-tinged straw. Aromas and flavors of orange oil, apple and anise. Enters round and sweet, then turns very austere and precise, revealing a licorice note that lingers on the tactile, savory finish. Deep and refined, this will improve markedly with a couple of years in the cellar. Ian d`Agata1st January 2019
