Château Gazin has been in the de Bailliencourt family since 1918 and boasts 19ha of vines planted on the eastern part of the Pomerol plateau. The 2006 is composed of 90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc. Slightly toasted on the nose with notes of ripe blackberries and black cherries, floral notes and touches of milk and caramel. The wood is well integrated. On the palate, silky, smooth and well balanced with a moderately long finish. Now in its drinking prime.

Good full red-ruby. Musky dark berries and roast coffee on the expressive nose. Sweet, lush and rich, with a pliant texture to the rather carnal flavors of currant, plum, truffle and cedary oak. Finishes with spreading, sweet tannins and very good persistence. A plush Gazin with very good chewy depth, but in a softer style and offering a lot of early appeal.
