Château Gazin is a family-owned Pomerol estate, focused on Merlot-dominant wines. Its vineyard spans 26 hectares and is situated on one of the highest plateaus in the region, with an average vine age of around 35 years. Presented here is their Grand Vin from the 1994 vintage, considered a Bordeaux classic. The wines were marked by a sturdy tannic structure and robust fruit, benefiting from some ageing to achieve a smoother texture.

Very good medium-deep color. Floral, somewhat high-toned aroma of crushed berries, licorice, smoke, chocolate and coffee. Smooth and flavorful in the mouth, with a lovely velvety texture and the density of the vintage. Finishes with a lingering, iron-like sweetness and fine tannins. A gently styled Pomerol, with no shortage of grip. Stephen Tanzer1st May 1996
