Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz 2001 is a large-format wine from the McLaren Vale, an esteemed Australian wine region. The wine presents a deep, vibrant crimson hue. Aromas of dark plum and black cherry are interlaced with subtle oak influences. On the palate, notes of ripe blackberry, plum and hints of mocha emerge, supported by firm tannins and a structured backbone. The winery, established in 1994, emphasises sustainable practices and meticulous vineyard management. This magnum format allows for extended aging potential, further developing its complexity over time.

Vinous
Deep red-ruby. Opulent, spicy aromas of blackberry, plum and cassis, with dark chocolate, mocha, licorice and lightly toasty, creamy vanillin oak. Sumptuous, powerful and creamy, presenting a perfectly ripened, vibrant palate dripping with impressively concentrated and luscious dark berry, plum and olive flavors, wrapped in new vanillin oak. The wine's firm, tightly knit tannins contribute to its excellent cut. Goes to prove that Australian shiraz can be big, ripe and beautiful without being overdone.
