Dominio de Pingus Flor de Pingus 2011 is a full-bodied red wine produced in the Ribera del Duero appellation of Spain. Pingus was established by the trailblazing Peter Sisseck in 1995 and has become one of the great names in terroir-focused Spanish wine. Flor de Pingus is the second wine of the estate and is produced from 100% old-vine Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). Made from extremely low-yielding bush vines, this is a wine with unique concentration, balance and length. The perfect harmony of ripe fruit, beautifully integrated tannins and elegant floral complexity. "Potent, mineral- and smoke-accented dark berry and violet scents show excellent clarity and lift. Silky and seamless in texture, offering sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavours and notes of spicecake and floral pastilles. Closes with strong thrust, appealing sweetness and sneaky, slow-mounting tannins. Very suave, even now, but this wine will be much better in another five to seven years." Vinous, 2013
