The 2005 Flor de Pingus is crafted from predominantly Tempranillo grapes in the Ribera del Duero region. It undergoes 14 months of maturation in new French oak barrels, which influences its profile significantly. This vintage presents an intricate aroma of dark fruits, minerals and subtle floral notes. The palate showcases concentrated fruit alongside a structured backbone, offering a nuanced tasting experience. Peter Sisseck, the producer, is noted for his dedication to wine quality, having gained recognition as a pioneer in Spanish winemaking.

Vinous
Deep red. Smoky cherry and cassis aromas are complicated by mocha, vanilla and cured tobacco. Coffee-accented red and dark berry flavors are enlivened by zesty minerality, which adds focus. Suave, sweet cherry-cola and anise flavors carry impressively through the vibrant, delineated finish. The 2004 has more power, this more finesse.Josh Raynolds1st September 2007
