A very rare bottling of Fine de Champagne, distilled in the 1840s and likely bottled at the end of the 19th century by Cockburn & Co. Fine de Champagne is a traditional French spirit distilled from the wine of the Champagne region. Produced using a double distillation process in copper pot stills, this elegant eau-de-vie is then aged in oak cask. Unlike Marc de Champagne, which is made from grape pomace, Fine de Champagne is distilled from the wine itself, giving it a smoother, more rounded character. Though less well-known than Cognac or Armagnac, it shares a similar pedigree and showcases the finesse of Champagne beyond sparkling wine, offering a rare glimpse into the region`s broader distilling heritage.
