The 2013 Figeac has a medium garnet color, with a touch of brick. It delivers scents of dried black cherries, fruitcake, and star anise, leading to suggestions of iron ore and leather. The medium-bodied palate offers sparks of the remaining fruit, with well-managed, soft tannins and a lifted finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown14th August 2023

The 2013 Figeac has more fruit than the Canon, with blackberry and wild strawberry aromas. It's straightforward and maybe just missing the expressive Cabernet component. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy entry, quite pastille-like with blackcurrant and a touch of blueberry, though it feels stolid and a bit short on the finish. Yet still one of the better Right Banks this vintage. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year On tasting. Neal Martin1st August 2023

An Elegant Right Bank Estate
Château Figeac is one of the finest producers in Saint-Émilion and is just one of fourteen properties classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) in 2012, putting it firmly in the highest echelons of the region.
Owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892, the history of this superb estate can be traced back to the Roman era and today spans 40ha. The majority of the grapes produced go into producing the celebrated first wine of the estate, Château Figeac, a classic style of Saint-Émilion with wonderful texture and tannic power. A small amount of the second wine, Le Petit Figeac is also produced.
