A full bodied, intense white from Emidio Pepe. Ripe stone fruit, white flowers and a fine herbaceousness combine on the nose and palate while the finish is clean and mineral - superb.

Bright, dark golden yellow. Aromatic herbs, peach, and ripe yellow apple have a noteworthy saline twist on the enticing, deep nose. Then saline in the mouth, with very good freshness providing the broad, rich, ripe flavors of oily spices and mint with noteworthy clarity and cut. Finishes with strong savory lift, outstanding length and a really chewy quality, the latter a very typical characteristic of all Emidio Pepe white wines. This is the best ever Pecorino, by far, from this estate. — Ian d'Agata, 1st June 2017

Smaller clusters, thicker skins and a little more acidity (compared with Trebbiano). Because of the high skin-to-juice ratio it yields less from the press. More opulent, and genetically an aromatic grape, which Trebbiano apparently is not. First vintage was 2010 but it was not made in 2011 as the grapes were overripe.
Pale golden straw. Parmesan crust and slumbering white fruit on the nose. Savoury and with aeration showing shy, sweet, honeyed fruit. Much more opulent and almost a little creamy on the palate, unlike any of their Trebbianos. Almost a little aromatic and quite viscous. (WS) — Walter Speller, 6th May 2019
