Situated in the village of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – often abbreviated to DRC – is widely considered among the world`s greatest wine producers. The cult domaine is named after its most famous vineyard, Romanée-Conti, which covers just 1.81 hectares of vines on the mid-slope of the Côte d`Or. DRC is co-owned by the de Villaine and Leroy families and produces only grand cru wines, such as this Échezeaux, made from a 4.67-hectare vineyard holding. The 2006 vintage is a medium-bodied wine, featuring spicy, slightly stemmy flavours, with a sweet edge and slight mineral finish.

The 2006 Échézeaux is weightless, precise and finely cut, but it is also a touch fragile and missing some depth through the middle.
